Education is one of the most powerful forces that can change the world. South Sudan needs a generation that is educated who can become the leaders who will tackle and solve the country's problems.

A Glimmer of Hope

A glimmer of hope can be seen at a large displacement camp in South Sudan. Mangalla is home to 40,000 people. Massive floods in 2020 caused thousands to flee to higher ground. These families lost everything including their schools.
Project S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is working to build classrooms for the thousands of children in the camp.

This community is committed in providing education for their children. One of the first surveys done in the camp was to find out how many teachers there were that could provide education 'under the tree'. The title of this survey was Education Can't Wait. The Southern Sudan Healthcare Organization (SSHCO) shares this vision. One of SSHCO's Six Pillars is education. SSHCO was one of the first organizations to serve the people at the displacement camp as the people were arriving in September, 2020. Project S.U.C.C.E.S.S. built a school in 2022 that is equipped with abundant supplies and uses technology to improve instruction for the students and teachers.
